Jobs at Camp Krem June - August 2008

Welcome to Camp Krem! We are proud to announce our 51st year of offering summer camping opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities such as, Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and those with physical and/or emotional differences.

Camp Krem is now accepting applications for summer staff positions. In keeping with our tradition of hiring the very best, we are seeking creative individuals who are mature, compassionate, energetic, and enthusiastic. Leadership skills, patience, good judgment and a sense of humor are essential. References, background checks and a medical screening are mandatory. Staff members are hired from universities throughout the United States and several countries. The staff sleeps in small cabin-groups of 6 to 7 with their campers providing support as needed to their campers. There are 3 to 4 counselors in each cabin. The days can be both physically and emotionally demanding but will also include endless rewards and many special moments to cherish.

In addition to working in this fun, adventuresome and fulfilling environment, staff members receive:

  • Excellent salary (Counselors are paid $220 per week)

  • Extensive Staff training and orientation
  • Professional career experience for those interested in healthcare, human services, education, and recreation fields.

ACTIVITIES: Together with our campers, we will explore, create, learn, make new friends and participate in many fabulous adventures. The wide variety of program activities allows for campers to have free-chioce, gain personal fulfillment and have fun at the same time. Counselors plan, participate and supervise campers in activities including:

Daily Swimming Arts & Crafts Backpacking Kickball
Cooking Pottery Nature Soccer
Singing Dance Hiking Baseball
Primitive Camping Gardening Music Basketball
Travel Camps Games Beachcombing  Bocce Ball
Campfire Programs Drama Camp Newspaper Talent Shows
1 - 3 Day Backpacking Trips 7-12 Day Primitive Camping Trips
Many feild trips to great sites such as Santa Cruz Beach Broadwalk, Big Basin State Park and Henry Cowel State Park.
